Is the time for me to prepare my own resume to apply for the job soon. The fist job I want to apply soon is from oil and gas sector, Shell. This big company is coming soon to our school to find some potential new employees. This is a quite tough company, after pass the first interview section still got different kind of barrier that need to overcome. Got one section is you need to attend their job recruitment day, and contribute yourself to activities that they do for you. This is to test your learning ability, personal skill, ability to solve problems…

Here is some guidance for writing a good resume that I found from internet:

A CV is a record of your personal, education and work details. It should be as up to date as possible. The layout of your CV is flexible, however ideally it should be no more than two pages long. The use of headings such as Education, Career History can help to clarify sections. Don't use fancy layouts as these can detract from the contents of your CV. Don't make general statements about your qualities. Make sure you can support your statements with evidence. Try to link your skills and experience to the requirements of the job you are applying for.

A good CV will include:

Personal Details 

Keep this section brief - your full name, address, email address and phone number are important. 

Education Details 

Usually stated in reverse chronological order, with your most recent experiences first. Include details of the name of the institutions, the dates you attended and the qualifications you obtained / will obtain.

Think about the relevance of the information you detail. You may want to include a list of relevant modules, information about projects and dissertations undertaken, average grades and/or skills developed.

Career History / Professional Experience 

All experiences count, whether paid, voluntary or shadowing. These are usually stated in reverse chronological order with dates to illustrate how long you were there. Focus on your responsibilities and achievements in the role and remember to highlight where skills were used or developed.

Positions of responsibility/achievements/interests 

These are all relevant sections to include and can be used to demonstrate that you are motivated to pursue other activities, have an interest in a relevant career and take the initiative to develop your involvements and skills. Try to focus upon recent achievements and what your contributions were, skills developed and outcomes.

Summary of the week 29 January 2010

These few days I feel quite lazy to write blog, feel like no time, but I am no idea with what I am busy with, seem I so free. Today, I met my friends that come from the same LI company in café, after finish their lunch, they just sit in the café with doing nothing, and I asked them why u all sitting here, and their answer is: we are too free, nothing to do. That is an impressive answer and I think this is the life that hope by many people that are busy with their stuffs, but sure I am excluded in that… haha. 

Start from last Saturday, I attended a cookies making gathering in Butterworth with friends. The main objective of the gathering is to makes hand-made peanut cookies and sell it for charity purpose during Chinese New Year, the total income will contributed into dialysis center, 洗肾中心 ( I am not sure with the English name, pls correct me by leaving me a note in comment). Besides that, the members (慈济) from the northern area will have this opportunity to meet and intercommunicate to facilitate closer relationship. Everyone have their own role in the cookies making process but it is quite boring since there is lack of job rotation. But I and my friends keep on volunteer ourselves to ‘change department’.

This is not the first time I contribute myself into the charity society. Last 2 years, I also got join a activity that visit nursing house and celebrate Chinese New Year with them in Penang Island. This is meaningful and if my time sheet is allowed, I will still join these kind of activities since I knew that the chance will becomes lesser and lesser once I step myself into the door of my working life. Take care of the society, donate money, donate your afford and the most important thing is to donate your kindness and carefulness. Just like the case of earthquake that happen recently, my friend which is very care of the social thing told me that Malaysia is a fortune country, we are free of nature disaster and yet rich with natural resources, ranging from tin for last few decade, to petroleum that is going to deplete soon. Man are not appreciate with the thing that come to them easily. I agree with the statement, and sometimes I am also one of that. Haha, I am not going to shape my good personality here, I just concern, and better I stop this before I get perli from those who are always perli me. 

 The next thing important in the week is my progress of FYP. I slightly start it already and the progress is very slow since I am facing with some problems constraint. I just finished my simple presentation with my lecture, and again he gave some comments on that… haha, it will never end, but still will end when the time stop me to move so in March.

Wednesday, I attended Litlegras 10th concert. That is a good job contribution from my juniors toward it. Continue to Ganbate. Thurday, celebrated birthday for our course mate, CH. The celebration is pretty simple but special. We just brought some food and drink, enjoy the party just beside the main road. Ya, no table or chair, all the food is placed on the tar road. This is the most special one I ever see, but imagine is someone celebrate it from me, wao, I am sure it is touch if from friends, romantic if from lover… sure I will cry one la… wakaka.

 This week, I had consult to the doctor because of continue diarrhea and lips crack. The lips crack is quite serious until I cannot open my mouth big big to bite and swallow the food, especially during my friend’s birthday celebration… I am to bite my food…:P…eeeha

Pulau Jerejak 22 January 2010

Total 15 of us, 13 Chinese and 2 Malay students attend this trip. This trip cost 60 bucks for each people and we depart from our campus at 8.30am and take the ferry on 9.30am to Pulau Jerejak. jungle tracking

The first activity is jungle tracking, this activity took about 30 mins for us to climb to the top of the little hill. Enjoy the natural is the main purpose of this activity but the species of the flora are quite limited. Some of us feel very tire while climbing the hill, but for me that is still ok. In this trip, this is my first time to experience the suspension bridge and flying fox. It is quite nice but seems the length of the suspension bridge and the flying fox is too short ==. Once awhile enjoy the natural that we are forgotten is nice and relax especially when we enjoy this with a gang of friends.

After that is free time and lunchtime. We take our meal in Satapan Restaurant. The free time slot in the afternoon is too long, we cannot do anything and just cycle around the track. Haha, maybe it is an interesting activity for other, but since I cycle everyday to the school and come from kampung, so there is nothing special for me but it is still a good experience for us to cycle together in the noon, under the very big sun.

After that, we went to wall climbing. The height of the wall is about 8 meter and I success to climb until the top. Haha, this is easy for me because I like to climb tree or tiang when I was young, but that is nothing to proud with, because most of us can climb until the top. don't know what is this activity called, just beside the wall climbing

After this, again is free time and waiting for the ferry at 6pm to sail back to the Penang Island. The weather is quite hot, and the only thing we can do is jump into the swimming pool. Too bad I not know how to swim, but my friend got teach me, but it is fail for me to learn that… haha, I am noob.15 of us, manufacuring and mechanic gang

In the evening, we are having our dinner in Queenbay Mall, Mc Donald’s before we go back with very tire. Some of my friend rate this trip with 4 marks, with 10 marks is full marks. Haha, got so bad? I don’t know, but actually it is quite boring, but since total 15 of us in the trip, so we can make a lot of fun inside there, this made the boring become not so boring, because all of us are not boring alone ==’’’. Haha, don’t get demotivated from me if you still plan to go this island, just go ahead, try what you never try before. 

Industrial visit 18,19 January 2010

18 Jan, we go to Motorola in Penang Island for industrial visit. This is the first visit in this semester and we do this visit is due to the company need our help to solve some problems in the production line. Actually we can’t say it as solve, but more correct one is learning in the real case of industrial, because I didn’t have the steady basic about the knowledge regarding with the thing the request us to do. The engineers in the department seem pour a very high hope on us to solve the material handling problems, they thought that this project is our FYP, by the way, this is only the smallest subject of us in this semester, which is only 2 units. Each of us have our own FYP to do, plus some of the core subjects to clear before graduate, and a lot of us have skip our class to attend the visit.

Haha, seems it soon will becomes a complaint thread. People there request us to do everything, including help them to calculate, solve, balance the production line, reduce 7 types of wastes, educate the operators in the line how to do to increase the performance, travel every week there to get the data and information… more and more they ask for, we had no idea with how we going to travel every week to there, seem different individual having their different time of class to attend, again the transport problem. When we become their employees? Maybe our bapa ayam (lecture) get a lot of advantages from that already ==’’’. However, cannot deny that we can learn something from there, need to emphasis here is to learn and try to solve, so don’t put too much hope on us, since if it is easy to solve, you all already solved it… haha, try our best ya.in Queenbay, lunch before go Motorola

Another visit to Seagate, in 19 Jan. In this visit, we can see a lot of testing and examination process is held on the very tiny component that will use in the hard disk. The purpose of this visit is to know more about how they use the technology of the optical measurement machine to do for the checking.

After expose to 2 of these factory, now we start to realize that the boring life of an engineer, haha… and very soon we will become one of them. If we make comparison within two factories, both of them need us to wear smock and their special shoes to get in the production line. Motorola with tighter security procedure, and the guard aunty is very fierce and ganas one, we all very scare. We need to take out everything and undergo temperature test before get the authority to go in. Em, I will say that Seagate is more well organized, more systematic, whereas the production floor in Motorola is quite messy, and also a lot of machines breakdown. There are many old folks in Motorola, but in Seagate, we hardly see them. This may imply that the benefit provided from Motorola is better, so many of them wish to retire from there… haha, this is only my ‘bias’ opinion, forgive me if I am wrong.

Yahoooo~~ today when I pass by the notice board in my school corridor, finally I saw my name is there—kindly collect your cert in office. Haha, I don’t want to make this thread again become complaint and show off thread, before I get banned. I say say only ma…

This is the weekend that I hope since about 3 months ago, I am glad that this trip was still held on even it is difficult.

I watched Avatar, and that is nice movie for me, since it gives a lot of space of imaginary for me and a lot of thing seem only can actualize in the movie but not in the real world because people is greedy and ego. We are hardly satisfied with what we have and we always have a dream. Once it realized, another dream is queuing there. This is none stop cycle; people are hardly live without the dream. The matter here is how we make it balance. Haha, is the time for me to stop discuss about this before I am getting blur in it. Overall, this movie is nice, I like it. This movie is kinda got the feel of the animation called 天空之城, from 宫崎骏. I like this people’s creation very much, even it is an animation, but it always fulfills my dream of imaginary. Even the witch in the cartoon also got the kind heart, people can ride with sweeper and their kitten, a lady being cursed and become an old women and how she work hard to remove the curse…

In the night, again we eat at the hawkers near to Komtar, is not mistaken is at Upper Penang Road. I enjoy the crowded and watching how people live their live, what is the different between them and I, and actually we are same. The next day, we take the free Central Area Transit (free CAT, miao miao) bus go surround the central area. Watch the people in the street; see the aunty come back from pasar… I am busy watching everything around me, everything is new to me and I seldom got such experience before. These are great and relax. Again, the breeze reminds me that Chinese New Year is just around the corner, you can feel it, smell it but you cannot see it.Goddess Of Mercy Temple, the oldest Chinese temple in Penang, with the present structure's foundation laid in 1728 (explaination from the flyer in get previously). In this trip, teddy bear reminds me to think rational in making decision after I graduate. I had thought of this before and all the things that you remind me I will take in consider, even though I knew it before, and thank for figure it more clearly because even I know the problems is there, but I cannot predict how deep will it affect me because I not know the exact situation. But for the mean time, I will still work hard and plan well for it. Since I am over protected before, a kampung boy that didn’t have a wide view of the outside world before, and you always say me like a child, this is the time for me to learn.

In this trip, I can see how my hero busy and how hard you work, I suddenly feel guilty because I am genius, genius of making people angry… haha, slap, piaksss~~~~~ aiyak. When I on the bus, I saw a people sitting at on the chair and keep open his mouth. Haha, too bad, because I am open my mouth quite often too, but still control in the ratio of 1: 2 if compare to yours. It is very funny, I appreciate all that you done for me, we are tired, but this is worth, I will try to make the trip simple in next. Em, good afternoon, I had fall in sick since yesterday and again it flu and cough. Consult to the doctor already and after take the medicine, it make me feel blur and sleepy all the day. I cannot even think properly where I am and what is the purpose for me to cycle and come to computer lab since I didn’t have any class or activities to do in the school. Sit at here, and start to think, the best reason I come to here is I don’t want to stay alone in the room, it will make me feel more sick.

For this weekend, no matter what also, I want to let you know, I will always be there to support you, I won’t do anything to hurt you, believe me. I will keep silent. No matter what, I will support you, don’t give up. Not know how to express, but you will know what I am trying to say… love. So if the time is allow, come on saturday ok? I appreciate what ever that you had done.I will respect your answer, even i very hope that you still can come here. However, no matter what, I want you to stay happily, ok? My heart will break if I see you like that...cheer up ok? huggy

Later 5pm I will going to my squash class, I won’t think that I will play it later, since I am sick here, just go there and relax, release some stress, and again to avoid the bore environment in the room will let me feel more sick to it. Yaya, I need to take care of my body, because something is waiting for me to go, the only thing for me to do is always get ready to what which is coming to me, it is beautiful, I knew and I will.

Dinner in a little kampung in Perak 8 January 2010

Went dinner with my friends in a little fish village somewhere in Perak just now, but I cannot recall what is the name of the place, since the name is very long (I admit am really bad in memorizing thing especially in number and name). The journey from our school to the destination took about 30 minutes and we need to go through the long, short and narrow road before we reach there. Since the road is narrow, it is very dangerous all along the way to the destination because we can see a lot scholar cycling on the road. The maximum driving speed for that is about 60km/h or even lower, but my friend always tend to speed up until 80km/h, or even higher, no matter how I give advice to him to more concern about the safety of the motorcyclists and cyclists. Keep overtake other car, lorry on the road… overtake 2 cars in 1 once, with 1 motorcycle coming from the opposite side, imagine… never see friend scold friend with same age, haha, can I? haha, I won’t scold people, just advise will do.

Some more, the motorcyclists at there no need to wear helmet, I can said that more that 90% of them didn’t wear helmet, and you will look like an alien if you do it. The maximum passengers on 1 motorcycle is up to 4 people, maybe there is more than that, just I didn’t see it just now. There is a big different phenomena between there with city, everyone at there seem having their own motorcycle, from those underage to… no police will tangkap them. Little fish village, relax, simple but quite boring also.

Now comment about the food, the food is quite cheap actually and we can’t get this price if we having the same things in the town (now I declare Nibung Tebal is a town :P). This coming Sunday I going to join the singing competition again… is again since loss for so many times already and this time the result will still the same since this competition is the bigger one, included all college or university students which is interested and talented… walao, am I one of the talented one? I am not sure, maybe. Good night to everyone, take care.

Budget 6 January 2010

Is the time for me to start to plan for my financial budget already since this is the last semester for me. I did not alert this until the last portion of the PTPTN had been bank in to my bank account. This implies that I own the government about RM 28K, and the question here is how much money that I left in my bank account. The exact amount of course I cannot tell here, but there is not much left, after I buy my laptop. Some of them I had transferred to another account and put it in fixed deposit, I want to emphasis that is ‘some’, there is very little only.

Now I start to calculate, if I want to survive from beginning of this year, until August (let say I will get my job and start to work in August if all the thing is going smoothly as planned), at least RM5k is needed. If divide this amount evenly through these 8 months, 1 months I have almost 600 bucks for me to spend. 600 bucks seems is a good news for me, because I am currently spend about 10 bucks per day (spending for food), this means that I have extra 10 bucks for emergency. Emergency can mean a lot of thing, just like yesterday I pay for the accommodation fees for my hostel during the time I stay in school at the pass holiday, pay for the books for the new semester, bought a keyboard (this is gatal), sick, included sick of myself, bicycle or other of my asset ‘sick’, even buy a shampoo. Huh? And let say I need to cover some expense once I start to work, pay for the deposit for rental fee (how many months actually?). ==’’’ anyway, good luck for my stock that was invested.

Now the turn talk about FYP, I going to start to find the material for the fabrication of my FYP, but the luck seems is not on my side. Every time I see my supervisor, every time he got new task and requirement need me to complete. Sometimes, I am sick with him, he will request a lot of things that is not impossible to do in our school lab. The machine in the lab is broken for decade, but he doesn’t know; request me to fabricate my product using glass, but when our school got this such technology; suggest me to use injection molding, use stainless steel to bend into the shape, how to bend it with the hammer in the lab? Aiyo, Solidworks cannot use for create thing that is not in solid (mean in flow like water), but he request me to do that. Haha, don’t want to complaint more already, else it will becomes a complaint essay.

Yaya, now going to meeting first, hopefully is a short meeting, but expected it will at least take 2 hours, just for the briefing and another 2 or 3 days full days for video recording and editing.

Back to school 2 January 2010

Back to school today, even the school had already start for 1 week, but seem a lot of people still not around, very quiet. The room is super dirty, only 1 plus month, but a lot of insect gecko, spider seem owning my room already. Quite boring in room, again alone here, luckily still got internet for me. Too bad, I forgot to bring my slippers. Nothing to do, so my plans for tomorrow are attend design meeting, buy slippers, survey a nice keyboard, because I don’t like to use the keyboard on my laptop, it is uncomfortable, feel warm on my hand, I will melt on it and also I type very slow when using it. 

Just now bought a yogurt, long time didn’t eat yogurt, I thought I will like the yogurt but once I taste that, the feeling is still the same, still cannot be changed, don’t like mean don’t like, no related with how long you had forgot the taste. Yucks, I don’t like yogurt. Why I still buy it? Because I thought I like it lok, I want to eat something in cold.the yogurt, to avoid the photo to looks dull, i just add my mouse and toy for decoration ^^

Few days before this, I followed my mum go to pasar, and there is a rush blood to my head, I told her I want to cook fried chicken later. Finally, I do it in the night, the taste is not bad, even the process in the kitchen is a bit mess, but I still manage to handle and clean it after that. Don’t complaint, I just follow the instruction to make it, if take KFC as a standard of 10 marks, I will get 20 marks, because the full marks is 100 :P, kidding la… KFC stand for kepo fried chicken. Even the taste still got a lot improvement to grow, but homemade one is always more healthy one right? No cholesterol :)

Goodbye 2009, welcome new life, year 31 December 2009

31 December 2009, last day for the year 2009, and welcome for year 2010 ahead. Em, what had I done on my year 2009? Recall back and there are some highlights in the year, just list out them as I remember. Of course, some things that were forgotten definitely not in the highlights, I forgot it means it is not important… what I am saying? I also don’t know. == 

When I look back the terms that I had listed on the paper for what are my targets for me to achieve in year 2009, I found that before that I really unplanned one. How to prove it? Study smart, family and friends always stay healthy and happily, become more proactive in school activities, don’t eat spicy food because of pimple is threatening my ‘image’… …. I cannot say that is some ignorant target, but some of these are the basic one that need to achieve before we can go higher. Ya, I am sure that sometime after 50 years later my target set will as same as what I am listed just now, always stay happily and healthy for my friends and family. This is the cycle, when anything goes wrong in our life, just go back to your restore point (same as what we done on our computer when it is attacked by virus), back to where you came from using time machine to your kindergarten , you will see ‘little you’ try hard to learn ABC. Cute, naïve, virgin… any troubles will automatic give you 50% discount on themselves. 

Back to the highlights in the year, finally == 

1. Industrial training, exposed to real working environment of an engineer, I know what should I do for the next after I graduate, it makes me understand that how important your interest influence your performance. In short, it makes me know my path more clearly, know where I should go.

2. Expose to some harsh condition and environment, again it related to the 10 weeks internship, but the work, but the rest of the time of office hour. I have the chance to see and do it alone. I am over-protected in my family even though I am born in a simple family, but this is the time for me to fall down and wake up myself, even though it is expected that I will fall down when I am alone outside there. Thank you for parents to give me this chance, chance to fall down, but still sayang back after that :P

3. Getting close to my family and friends, becomes more proactive and confident when dealing with stranger. This is also the output I learn from no.2. Ya, people becomes more appreciate what we have after we fallen down. 
4. Working in PC fair, I become more talkative, understand the skills to convince the customer and how to get close with people especially stranger, how to relieve their tension on- “alamak, this guy is coming closer to me, how I going to ‘escape’ .”

5. Of course, I found the hero, share the joys, share the troubles, the people that influence me a lot on everything. I know, you knew. Thank you. Anything regarding to this will categories in this term, haha, allow me to keep some secret of mine.

6. Gastric is coming back to me after stillness for about 10 years. Don’t say me daisei, when gastric come, I really feel like I am going to die. I will take care of my healthy, don’t worry.

7. Start my study on stock or share. Start to plan my financial path, before I graduate.

8. Reading more books, regarding financial, relationship, real life… perhaps to adjust back my position if I am off from the track and find some solutions myself. Ya, is the time for me to learn that, 23 years old, hopefully not too late.

9. I cried, I laugh, I smile

10. Kicked out in first round of singing competition in our school, but still manage to join another 1 next year in main campus… swt.. ==’’’ Ganbate, I knew you all always laugh at me, I final year already la…. Argh !!! oh ya, forgot to mention about my lappie :P

Ya, last, my wishes in year 2010…

1. Successfully graduate in this year. My fyp going well as planned.

2. Find the job that I like in KL, got nice colleagues :) not as my supervisor when industrial training, scare. ==

3. More confident to myself… no slack anymore in new environment, especially after graduate, I am not a boy, but not yet a man… I am superman.

4. Say NO to anything that is not good, smoking, liquor… lepak? I mean learning something bad when in new environment. 

5. Make use of internet… ==, RMK berapa?

6. Implement everything that I promised in year 2009.

7. Become more patient, polite… moral I mean, even I very moral liao :P 

8. Work hard for relationship, friendship… whatever ship also, guide them to the harbor.

9. Grab more money, with well financial planning and investing. Will see the 2010 my sendirian berhad year end budget. pay some tuition fee is okay, but not bankrupt ya.. haha

10. Back to the basic one as I said, everyone stay healthy and happily.
